The Allied Powers started dominating them in the battles like Battle of Hürtgen Forest, Atlantic, Bulge, Monte Cassino, and Okinawa also known as the bloodiest battle. An atomic bomb was dropped on the city of Hiroshima in Japan on August 6, 1945 killing millions of civilians. Three days later the dropping another atomic bomb on Nagasaki, Japan followed. This resulted in the surrender of Japan. Germany surrender after the suicide of Hitler and his family. The war ended with millions of casualties and tragic events having taken place on both sides.
